FreedomPay Wins Timmy Award for Best Tech Work Culture in Philadelphia!

The Timmy Awards recognize companies for their investment in the people that make exciting new technology possible. Tech in Motion, the force behind the awards, knows it is important to celebrate the very best employers for tech professionals in North America, and opened nominations back in July for the 2017 awards in 10 regions, including FreedomPay’s home city of Philadelphia. The Timmys are special, because they don’t just reward individuals for advancing technology. They recognize the stand-out companies who employ and cultivate exceptional teams—the very teams driving innovation in our world. Winners are determined by 50% public voting and 50% judge’s voting.

In 2016, the Timmy’s saw more than 2,000 companies nominated and over 83,000 votes cast to name each city’s “Best Technology Manager,” “Best Tech Startup,” and “Best Tech Work Culture.” In 2017, that number grew, and a new award category was added: “Best Tech Workplace for Diversity.”

This year, the Timmy Award ceremonies took place in September; every one of the participating cities held a Timmy Award ceremony within a few weeks of each other. Those invested in the future of tech in many different cities attended, including tech professionals, managers, makers, entrepreneurs, and founders. The Philadelphia Timmy Awards was on Wednesday, September 27 at the Chemical Heritage Foundation at 315 Chestnut Street, and FreedomPay is extremely pleased to announce we won the Timmy Award in Philadelphia in the Best Tech Work Culture category! This award recognizes a technology culture here at FreedomPay that actively promotes technical creativity, nurtures innovation, encourages learning, and rewards contributions from the whole tech team.
