FreedomPay Deploys Commerce Platform at MGM Resorts International Properties
The FreedomPay Commerce Platform gives MGM Resorts an edge in payments innovation
LAS VEGAS, NV – January 11, 2017 – FreedomPay, the leader in secure commerce technology for lodging, gaming, retail, restaurants, stadiums and other hospitality merchants, announced today the deployment of its industry leading commerce platform at most MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) properties in North America.
In selecting the FreedomPay Commerce Platform, MGM Resorts has deployed the first EMV commerce platform capable of securing payments throughout MGM Resorts’ hotel management system. FreedomPay’s platform enables MGM to seamlessly deliver unparalleled card data security for all their guests’ payment transactions.
“Our goal is to deliver exceptional guest experiences and world-class payment security. Credit card data is critically important to us,” said Sy Esfahani, MGM Resorts chief information officer. “The FreedomPay Commerce Platform provides an EMV solution across all our point-of-sale channels.”
MGM Resorts deployed FreedomPay’s PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution on Ingenico Group’s iSC, iPP and iSMPc smart terminals with its existing Oracle Hospitality OPERA property management system. The FreedomPay validated P2PE solution is securing payments at front desks, concierge services and back-office operations by encrypting credit card data at the point-of-sale. FreedomPay’s scalable commerce platform has enabled MGM Resorts to deploy FreedomPay payment security throughout their restaurants, cabanas, valet parking and ecommerce sites by leveraging an extensive library of POS system integrations and secure online capabilities.
“FreedomPay continues to lead the industry in secure payment technology by delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and their customers,” said Christopher Kronenthal, chief technology officer at FreedomPay. “Through our integration with OPERA, the FreedomPay Commerce Platform provides MGM Resorts the most flexible and scalable secure payment solution available in the hospitality industry. This includes future roadmap items as well, such as unattended, mobile programs and pre-paid product options.”
Key to the success of the program, was participation from both Oracle, as well as Ingenico Group. Said Scott Lampman, vice president of gaming for Oracle, “FreedomPay is a key partner in the ecosystem, and working with them was critical to the success of the overall update for MGM.” Ingenico Group’s Scott Tubbs, chief revenue officer, had similar things to say about the project; “MGM is the latest of many well-known brands to take the next step to secure their business and customers’ payment data, and we’re happy that our team, combined with our partners at FreedomPay, were able to deliver such an industry leading, and world-class point-of-sale solution to be a part of that protection.”
In addition to PCI-validated P2PE payment security, FreedomPay is also providing MGM Resorts a comprehensive offering of proprietary solutions only available on its platform. FreedomPay’s Commerce Platform is currently deployed across MGM properties including; MGM Grand Las Vegas, Bellagio, ARIA, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, New York, New York and others.
